Mission:

The Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County leads the community in advancing the Arts in Santa Cruz County, and ensuring arts opportunities for all by providing programs and services that support artists, strengthen arts organizations, promote arts education in schools, and encourage artistic creativity and diversity.

Vision Statement:

The Cultural Council of Santa Cruz county believes that the Arts are integral to a thriving community life, providing individual expression and common cultural experiences and contributing to a healthy economic environment. The Cultural Council believes that Santa Cruz County is a place known for the diversity and quality of our artists, where the artistic expressions of many cultures are supported and celebrated, and where art is considered vital to our unique quality of life.

To lead our community in this vision, the Council will:

  • Advocate for support of the Arts as a civic investment, using sustainable public and private funding sources, supportive public policies, and accessible arts facilities.
  • Foster programs that provide diverse high quality arts experiences for all Santa Cruz County residents.
  • Support local artists and arts organizations by providing a strong grants program, professional development, technical assistance, and collaborative marketing opportunities.
  • Provide and promote arts education to make the arts a part of every child's life in and out of the classroom.

Annual Report

The Cultural Council's Annual Report for fiscal year 2006-07 is available. This document, presented every year at the CCSCC Annual Meeting in June by the Executive Director, highlights the accomplishments and challenges embraced by the Cultural Council over the previous 12 months.
