Donor Spotlight: Yvonne Irick’s Legacy of Purposeful Giving

Yvonne Irick

Honoring a Life of Intentional Generosity

When we reflect on the life and generosity of Yvonne Gibeau Irick, one truth stands out: her giving was not only faithful—it was intentional. Yvonne passed away in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of intentional generosity. Throughout her life, Yvonne supported Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County through heartfelt contributions, including gifts from her IRA and Donor Advised Fund (DAF).

A Transformative Final Gift

But it was her final act of generosity, her decision to name Catholic Charities as a “successor beneficiary” of her Donor Advised Fund, that became her most transformative gift.

Through this simple yet powerful step, she ensured her support would extend beyond her lifetime, meeting future needs with the same compassion and clarity that defined her life. Her DAF succession gift, made through Bank of America Charitable, is now blessing the lives of families, seniors, and vulnerable individuals throughout our community.

Giving with Wisdom—During Life and Beyond

Yvonne’s story reminds us that we don’t have to choose between caring for ourselves and giving generously. She used thoughtful tools like her IRA and DAF to make smart, meaningful gifts during her lifetime, then extended her impact with a succession plan.

Yvonne’s remarkable journey is a powerful invitation to ask: How will my life be remembered? What enduring difference will I make for others today, and beyond my lifetime?
